Title of Keynote: Methods of improving the efficiency of machining of titanium alloys used in aerospace industry.
About Keynote: Machinability of titanium alloys is limited because of its physical properties and, above all, their low thermal conductivity and high work hardening capability. Nowadays a worldwide trend in difficult-to-cut alloys machining effectiveness improvement is observed. In this domain, few areas of research and development activities concentration can be indicated. The lecture is devoted to the research in this issue including non-conventional technologies of machining like high-pressure cooling (HPC) and laser-assisted machining (LAM) as well as the development in the area of cutting tools will be presented.
